Ridding Lessons

Additional Information

Ridding Lessons are offered to any age or level of rider.  We have trainers who are skilled and experienced in several discipline however, “basics are basics no matter the tack or discipline” as Jen is fond of saying.

We have several wonderful lessons horses and lesson equipment available.  Or bring your own horse and let us help you as a team!  We welcome all haul-in’s for lessons and events.

We offer both private, simi-private (2), and group lessons (no more than 5).  For those students who are learning to ride for the first time, we require private lessons.  As the student progress and has a good grasp of some basic skills, then group lessons are available to the student.  If students choose group lessons we will match riders up in groups based on riding skill/level.

Students are required to wear pants or leggings with a boot or a shoe that has a small heel.  We also request that students bring their own helmet.  If you do not have a riding helmet, a bike helmet will work in the beginning.  However, if you or your child wishes to continue riding lessons a proper riding helmet will be required.  GGSH has a selection of riding helmets in various sizes available to students for use should they forget their own on lesson day or should they need to use one while deciding if they want to keep riding.

Lessons are offered all week and year round, we have a lovely outdoor sand arena as well as an indoor riding ring for use during inclement weather.

We do require at least a 24-hr notice of cancellation, otherwise you will still be responsible for payment if a lesson is missed.

For any additional questions please feel free to contact us, we would love to answer any questions!

SHOW TEAM

Show Team:

Students who have been evaluated and show proficiency in basic skills and safety required for showing, and have an interest in showing, are invited to the Show Team.  In order to be part of the Show Team the student also has to show that they are committed to the time and investment both physically and emotionally.

Show Team will require 2 group lessons per month with the whole Show Team in addition to regular weekly lessons.  Show Team lessons will focus on polishing skills required to be successful at competitions.  We will also have a sit down meeting prior to ridding where we will discuss the goals for any up coming shows, the show calendar and choose any shows that we might like to compete at.  In addition we will review the “pre-show” check list and make sure that all Show Team members are comfortable with the information they will need to know, have the appropriate gear and clothing for competition, and answer all questions that might come up.

Please inquire about the cost associated with Show Team.
